Vacancies

We currently have two casual vacancies.  We have 5 members representing Cross Houses, 2 representing Berrington, 1 representing Cantlop and are looking for representatives from the other settlements to ensure that we are truly representing the wider community.

Are you interested in doing something for your community?

Do you feel you could contribute to the community in some way?

Experience is not necessary, training will be given on the roles and responsibilities of a councillor.

The Parish Council comprises local people elected by the community to represent their views and aspirations. They are the voice of the people representing the views of the community, and are responsible to the people they represent.

The role of the Parish Council is to work towards improving the well being of its community and providing services at the most local level, in its own right and also in partnership with other bodies, such as Shropshire Council and West Mercia Police.

Berrington Parish Council meets on the first Thursday of every month except for August and December. The meetings take place at The Chapel Community Centre, Cross Houses starting at 7.00pm and lasting no more than 2 hours.

If you are interested in becoming a parish councillor then please contact the Clerk ([email protected]) or Chair ([email protected]) briefly explaining why you would like to take on the role.
